The National Conference on Social Work and HIV/AIDS, founded in 1988, is an annual event that offers social workers, allied professionals, and people affected by HIV/ AIDS the connections, tools, learning opportunities, and strategies they need to understand and implement effective practices in their agencies and communities. Our goals for attendees of the 37th National Conference on Social Work and HIV/AIDS (NCSWH), May 21-24, 2025, are to gain knowledge, be challenged, and be renewed.

The 37th National Conference on Social Work and HIV/AIDS theme is "From Awareness to Action: Advancements in HIV/AIDS and Social Work," which will focus on bridging the gap between understanding and practical application in HIV/AIDS care. The conference will highlight recent advancements in HIV/AIDS research, treatment, and prevention and explore how these developments can be effectively implemented in social work practice. Attendees will engage with leading experts through presentations, discussions, and interactive sessions to gain insights into translating knowledge into actionable strategies. The event aims to inspire and equip social workers with the tools and approaches necessary to enhance care, support, and advocacy for those affected by HIV/AIDS.

Social workers know that HIV/ AIDS is not merely a health issue but is often a result of poverty, racism, homophobia, and stigma. We will not see an end to the HIV and AIDS epidemic without addressing the systems and policies that perpetuate social injustice and continue to contribute to health inequities.
